Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer different billing options?
With convenient billing options offered by Walton Gas, you have the power to choose. Call 770.267.2505 or Email our customer service representatives for more information or to Sign Up. On top of our easy billing options, we have simple Payment Options as well.

Consolidated Billing

If you’re a Walton EMC electricity customer, we can consolidate all your energy charges on one convenient bill.

Levelized Billing

Your gas bill naturally varies between seasons due to changes in heating requirements. Levelized billing helps get rid of these peaks and valleys with a more consistent amount all year long. Because levelized billing is a rolling twelve month average, you don’t have to “settle up” at the end of the year like some budget billing plans.  (Walton Gas reserves the right to limit the availability of the levelized billing option)

Internet Billing

Instead of sending you a traditional paper bill in the mail, Walton Gas can deliver your bill over the Internet. We’ll notify you each month by email when your Internet bill is ready. Then simply Log In to view and pay your bill by bank draft, e-check, or credit card.

Why do I have to go to a different site to pay my bill online? Who is SEDC?
If you have signed up to pay your bill online, you’ve probably noticed that the online billing site is different from waltonemcgas.com. Don’t worry; you’re at the right site!

Southeastern Data Cooperative (SEDC) runs the online billing portion for Walton EMC Natural Gas. That’s why you’re directed to a different site when you proceed to view or pay your bill online. Its SSL software encrypts all of your personal information so that you know it is secure to process your transactions.

SEDC is a data processing cooperative that serves more than 170 electric cooperatives and municipal utility providers in 28 states, including Walton EMC (the owner of Walton EMC Natural Gas). SEDC handles all of WEMCNG’s billing, from the online billing system to the printing and mailing of the paper bills. SEDC also stuffs The Walton EMC Gasette into your gas bill each month.

Your monthly credit card or bank statement will list SEDC instead of WEMCNG, because SEDC processes your online payment for WEMCNG.

Why do I get an error message when I try to open the online billing site?
Check your Internet browser. Walton EMC online billing supports Internet Explorer 4.0 and higher, Netscape 4.01 and higher, and Firefox browsers. If your browser does not fall within these categories, please have it updated or try our automated phone payment system as another bill payment option.
What should I use for my password?
You should use the password shown on your first Walton EMC bill when you log on for the first time. You will then be prompted to change it to your own password. Choose a password that’s not obvious. A combination of letters and numbers is best.
What do I do if I forget my password?
If you forget your password, just contact us and we’ll help you reset it.
I am entering my account number and password correctly, but it still says “invalid account number or password.” What should I do?
Make sure that you are dropping the last two digits of your account number when logging in. For example, if your account number is 1111101, you should enter 11111. If the problem persists, please contact us.
How do I print out a copy of my online bill?
If you want to print a copy of your bill, click on the Print Preview button below the bill and follow the steps to print.
How do I know if my credit card payment has gone through after I click “Submit Payment?”
If you pay by credit card, be patient and give the system time to verify it. CAUTION: If you click the “Submit Payment” button again before the system is finished, your credit card will be charged as many times as you click the button. When the charge goes through, a payment acknowledgement screen will appear. Please print this screen or write down the transaction number for your records.

If your credit card payment is rejected, you will see an error screen. No payment will be posted to either your credit card or Walton EMC account.

If I paid my bill online, why do I still receive a paper bill showing a balance due?
If you pay online, you will still receive a paper bill. Since the paper bill is mailed and the electronic bill is uploaded at the same time, your paper bill will still show a balance due. If you would no longer like to receive paper bills, you may select Internet Billing by calling or Emailing Us.
