This month, Walton Gas employees are again rolling up our sleeves to help sort and shelve canned goods at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.

Throughout 2023, Walton Gas has been celebrating 20 years of providing great natural gas service to fellow Georgians. Part of this year’s anniversary celebration has been a deeper commitment to giving back to the people and communities we serve. During this traditional season of giving, we take a look back at a few highlights from our year-long “season” of helping improve the quality of life for fellow Georgians.

Camp Twin Lakes, which provides camping experiences for children with serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges, was among the charities sharing $54,000 donated through the Walton Gas Champions for Charity program. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and The Salvation Army also received checks presented during a recent University of Georgia football game.

Experience Snellville events — Again this year, Walton Gas is a keystone sponsor for free, community-wide events such as a monthly concert series held throughout the summer, the town’s Independence Day fireworks show and its annual fall festival. In November, we were a sponsor and participant in the community’s annual Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony.

As a presenting sponsor for the annual Moxie Awards, we helped the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce celebrate women who make it happen in their careers and communities.

Annandale Village — Our team spent time making art with the residents of Annandale Village in Suwanee. Annandale Village is the only non-profit residential community in the entire southeastern United States that serves adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries at all levels of care.

This is the second year Walton Gas sponsored the VALOR Awards to honor Gwinnett County public safety professionals, including firefighters, police and emergency personnel, who have dedicated their lives to protecting those in their community.

Children’s Hospital of Atlanta — In a single hour of hosting the CHOA’s Care-a-Thon, Walton Gas employees raised more than $58,000 to help provide quality healthcare for the youngest in our communities. Walton Gas has participated in the Care-a-Thon each year since 2015.

Walton Gas employees made their annual trip to Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge to host an ice cream party for campers and staff in celebration of June Dairy Month. Camp Twin Lakes provides camping experiences for children with serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges.
Some Walton EMC employees put their best foot forward to represent our company in the AthHalf Half Marathon & 5K races, which raises money for K-12 music and arts programs in Athens-Clarke County.

Arts and music education in Athens-Clarke County — Our company was a presenting sponsor of both the AthFest Music & Arts Festival and the AthHalf Half Marathon & 5K to raise much-needed funds to benefit K-12 music and arts programs in the community. Walton Gas employees also worked as volunteers to support the races.

Walton Gas was the co-title sponsor for the Summer Swing Golf Tournament that raises awareness and funds for the Clarke County Mentor Program, an initiative aimed at increasing the number of students who graduate from high school and are prepared for employment or post-secondary education.
