• 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini M&M’s candy

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Then, add cocoa powder and oil. Whisk together. Once bubbling, remove from heat and stir in dark chocolate broken into pieces.  In a bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking powder; this is your dry ingredient mixture. In a separate bowl, use a hand mixer to combine sugar and eggs. Add vanilla and melted chocolate. Add dry ingredient mixture. Fold in chocolate chips and M&M’s. Pour the mixture into a greased 8×8 pan. Top with more M&M’s. Bake for 26 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after being inserted into the brownies.
