Walton Gas presented checks to the recipients of this year’s Champions for Charity contributions during a recent University of Georgia football game.

‘Tis the season of giving, and there’s no better sign of that than the familiar sound of ringing bells at popular shopping destinations.

Starting in late November until Christmas Eve, volunteer bell ringers for The Salvation Army are out in full force. The donations they collect will help provide local emergency services, shelter, housing, youth services and recovery programs in communities throughout the state.

At Walton Gas, we view every day as the season of giving.

At Walton Gas, we view every day as the season of giving. It’s why we work throughout the year to support community organizations like The Salvation Army.

Walton Gas is dedicated to being a great neighbor by giving and volunteering, said Sara Hodge, marketing specialist.

“We want to have a positive impact on the communities that we live in and serve,” she said. “We see this as being about more than writing a check; it’s about showing up.”

Through the Champions for Charity program, Walton Gas annually donates to three Georgia organizations that benefit our communities.

Through the Champions for Charity program, Walton Gas annually donates to three Georgia organizations that benefit our communities. Amounts given are based on customer voting. This year, $17,000 was given to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to support their pediatric care programs. The Salvation Army received $8,000.

Walton Gas fuels community spirit by sponsoring events such as Live on the Lawn.

Another donation went to Camp Twin Lakes, which provides camp experiences to Georgia children with serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges. Since 2018, Walton Gas has sent more than 100 under-resourced children to the camp. Most recently, a $12,000 donation was made to the nonprofit organization.

Walton Gas employees frequently team up to benefit good causes. In October, 10 Walton team members raised $30,000 and walked 30 miles in support of the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. A team of 15 runners participated in the AthHalf in Athens to help fund music and arts education programming.

We also fuel community spirit by sponsoring events that bring people together, such as the two-day arts and entertainment Suwanee Fest. As a keystone sponsor of Experience Snellville, we help present events like the Live on the Lawn outdoor concert series and the community’s annual fall festival and Christmas parade.

In June, we sponsored a fundraiser for the Drake House, which provides supportive housing and enrichment programs for homeless mothers and their children in north metro Atlanta. We helped celebrate Gwinnett County women who are bold in business as a 2021 sponsor of the Moxie Awards.

Stay tuned as the season of giving continues in 2022. The calendar is already filled with opportunities for Walton Gas to give and volunteer, fueling the causes, activities and events that make Georgia a great place to call home.
